The College Co-Curricular

Who's Who at MCHF - Elias Challhoub Year 9 and George Malouhi Year 7

Co-curricular activities supplement the formal academic curriculum by offering students chances to delve into their interests, acquire fresh skills, and expand their perspectives. These activities go beyond the traditional classroom setting, encompassing a wide range of experiences that contribute to the holistic development of students.

MCHF students Mary Semaan and Christian Awad performed a musical interlude. John El-Barhoun (former student) received a scholarship sponsored by Arab Bank. The Kirby Cup Challange- Legal Studies Students

On 4th November, our students went to Western Sydney University to receive their commendable award for the prestigious KIRBY Cup, presented by the esteemed Justice Kirby.

They have received their conditional early entry into any Law Degree in the School of Law. This achievement not only highlights their hard work and dedication but also serves as an inspiration for future endeavors. The KIRBY Cup symbolises excellence and commitment, and we are proud of our students for demonstrating such outstanding qualities. Their achievement reflects the spirit of our community and reinforces the importance of perseverance and teamwork.

Ms Esber Dayoub

MCHF and St Maroun's Annual Leadership Walk

Each year the newly elected leaders at both Colleges, embark on the Coogee to Bondi Walk. This provides an opportunity for students to collaborate and share ideas about their goals and endeavours in their newly elected roles.

We thank the Year Advisors Ms Badr (MCHF) and Mr Sassine (St Maroun's) for accompanying the students on this journey.

PA: Movie Night

This year the Parent Association wanted to host a Family event and what a better idea than a Christmas Family movie night!

We had a fantastic turn out with many families bringing along their picnics, blankets and chairs to join together to watch Home Alone.

Our Parent Association had concession snacks available for sale, everything you would expect for a movie night: popcorn, chips, drinks, lollie bags, Christmas Cookies! Thank you to Mrs Botros and Food Technology students for the delicious Christmas themed cupcakes!! We also had an ice cream truck serving up ice cream, slushies & hot beverages!

Part way through we had a change of venue relocating from G block to the Primary Hall to avoid the changing weather but it didn’t dampen the atmosphere!

Thank you to all who contributed to making the evening such a terrific event! From those who donated, volunteered and also those who came along to what we hope will be the first of many Family events.

Special thanks to Sister Margaret & Mr Asmar for allowing us to add another event to our full school calendar and also to Sister Irene, Sister Juliette & Sister Rita for their support on the night.

Max Potential Youth Leadership Achievements

A special thanks and congratulations to the following Year 11 students for their achievements in the Max Potential program, culminating in the final Showcase held at Dooleys, Regents Park this week.

Max Potential is a unique personal leadership development program that runs over five months, connecting emerging young leaders from local high schools (16-21 years old) with community leaders from all walks of life, working on the question:

“What is a need in the community that could be tackled in an innovative way?”

Their growth, confidence, and enthusiasm were inspiring. It was clear to see how much they have embraced the experience and challenged themselves, both personally and for their community.

Additionally, the wonderful support of Sr Margaret and Mrs Badr at the event made the experience even better for our students.

Please congratulate Jonathan Semaan, Emily Farah, Grace Elkhoury, Allegra Achy, and Marielle Khoury.

Kindy visit the Aquarium

In week 3, Kindergarten had an exciting adventure visiting the aquarium to explore the fascinating world of sea creatures! This hands-on experience enhanced our English program by allowing the children to observe and learn about marine life up close. From colourful fish to massive sharks, Kindy engaged in interactive activities that sparked their curiosity and encouraged them to express their thoughts and feelings about what they saw. The excursion was both educational and fun, fostering a love for learning and a deeper understanding of the ocean’s wonders!

Kindy had the best day ever.

Glow Big or Go Home - Primary Disco!

The students had a blast dancing, playing games, and enjoyed a fun filled day of music and laughter at our Primary disco.

Thank you to all the teachers who supported this event and ran different activities to ensure students had a memorable experience.

Thank you to our student Photographer Leila Bou-melhem who captured these images.
