Round 8 of the Get Active Kids Voucher Program opens at 10am on Wednesday 9 October 2024. The Get Active Kids Voucher Program helps eligible families get their kids involved in organised sport and active recreation activities. Eligible children may receive up to $200 to cover the costs for membership and registration fees.

Wedderburn LIVE
Wedderburn College with Anglicare Victoria partnered with Live FM to create three Podcasts. The first Podcast is about listening to a young man Fred, that has a lived experience with a Gambling Addiction, he speaks openly with the Wedderburn students about how his addiction began and his journey to seeking professional help. This is a wonderful interview by four of the Year 9 Wedderburn students. They make a deep connection with Fred and provide some great ideas to help anyone that may know someone or themselves to seek help.
The other two Podcasts are interviews with people that provide health services in this region: Jeri Mayers, Therapeutic Counsellor with Gamblers Help and Grace Owen, Youth Psychosocial Recovery Worker. These service provide general support services for people of all ages and they are definitly worth a listen. The Podcasts were organised with Anglicare Victoria as a competition to win Wedderburn College the equipment to produce our own Podcasts in the future. Our Year 9 students have absolutely excelled and we hope you enjoy listening. If you go through the pages in the Flipbook you will find the PLAY buttons to listen to the three Podcast. For every listen Wedderburn get points, if they receive more points than the other school we will win the challenge.
Thank you and I hope you can help the Year 9 students win this challenge. They have already learnt so much from this activity, but future opportunities to create Podcasts that relate to their peer groups would be an outstanding opportunity.
