Performing Arts

Foundation:

The students in foundation have been focusing on this term learning to sing sound right songs and focus on the meanings behind them.

They get to sing two songs a week, along with colouring in a picture based on the animals they are singing about.

Students then get the chance to do some dancing which is usually to Danny Go or a Just Dance clip which gets them very excited.

Students then get to participate in some sort of Drama game which they all get really excited for.

Followed up by a nice music book read along to calm them down before they head out for lunch.

Grades 1/2 :

This term so far the 1/2 students have been focusing on playing different musical instruments, those being so far the boomwhackers and drums.

The students follow along with songs on the board which have the notes they need to follow along with the different tempos, volume etc needed when playing these instruments.

The students have been wonderful at playing these instruments and most of the time have sounded exactly like the songs they have been playing which is great to hear.

Grades 3/4 :

This term the 3 /4 students are going to be focusing on drama performances as they had stated to me last term that they were interested in dressing up and acting out plays in front of their peers.

They are currently part taking in a Readers Theatre performance, in which they have been placed into groups and each been given a different storyline / script and have been rehearsing these for the last 2 weeks, and this week they will pick out their costumes and get to perform them in front of their classes.

Grades 5/6 :

The students in 5 /6 this term have been focusing on different drama games that they enjoy and then this week they have been practising and rehearsing their red faces acts in which they will perform on their school camp.
