Dear parents/carers,
You are kindly invited to attend a Welcome 2025 Kindergarten Family Mass to be held on Sunday 3rd November at 9.30am at Our Lady of Fatima Church. This Mass is to welcome you into the Parish school community. The families of Year 5 will lead us in prayer along with our Parish priest Father Julian.
Each 2025 Kindergarten child will receive a special prayer pack as a welcome gift and each family will receive a special blessing. I look forward to seeing you at this Mass celebrating friendship and new beginnings.
“Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you,
for the glory of God.”
St Paul in Romans 15:7
Time to get out the Rosary beads and pray to Mary!
By tradition, the Catholic Church dedicates each month of the year to a certain devotion. The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, one of the best known of all Catholic devotions. October includes the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (October 7). The best way to celebrate the month is, of course, to pray the Rosary.
This is the second week of the HSC schedule and the Year 12 students need our prayers more than ever! Best wishes to all students as they continue this journey.
Fatima Friends continues this term!
Looking forward to more fun, play and prayer this term!

Blessing is an ancient practice and common element in almost all religions. Why not start a lovely new tradition in your family with this simple Trinitarian blessing for your children. It is a great way to settle restless children to sleep and a comforting ritual for kids who experience nightmares or have trouble sleeping. Read here for more information.
One of the most beautiful traditions of the Catholic Faith is the celebration of the lives of the Saints. Not only do these men, women and children give us inspiration by the way they lived their faith, and often died for it, they also continue to offer us help in our daily lives.
Though it is common to say ‘rest in peace’ to someone who has died, for saints there is no rest after death! They are expected to keep busy and many of them are credited with hundreds of miracles. Read here for more information.
A soul cake is a small round cake made for All Souls’ Day (the 2nd November), according to a centuries-old tradition from Britain and Ireland.
The cakes were given out by the more well-do-to of a parish to the poor who would go door to door ‘begging for souls’. In exchange for cakes ‘soulers’ would sing psalms and say prayers for the giver’s deceased loved ones. This tradition apparently evolved into today’s ‘trick or treating’ on Halloween.
Some versions of this recipe are more like a soft bun, others a biscuit, and others kind of in-between, like a scone or rock cake. Here is the recipe for you!
