Primary School

The 2025 Kindergarten Transition Program is well underway. Early Stage 1 Coordinator and Kindergarten teacher, Mrs Julia Reid, visited many of the children who are enrolled to start in our 2025 Kindergarten classes. Visiting students in their preschool setting has many benefits. Firstly, it provides an opportunity to observe the students in a classroom or playground setting where they are comfortable and feel safe. Secondly, being able to tap into the knowledge that the Preschool educators have about their students is incredibly valuable. The opportunity to discuss classroom routines that work and unpack individual strategies for students supports a smooth transition into school. Finally, being able to recognise an adult from their new school will assist students when they attend Moama Anglican Grammar for their first transition morning.

Our transition program caters for both students and parents. From information sessions to curriculum workshops, we look forward to welcoming all our new families at the various upcoming events.

Year 7 2025 Orientation Day

Our Year 6 students, together with incoming Year 6 students from other schools will attend their first Year 7 Orientation Day on 12 November, marking the beginning of their secondary schooling journey! The day will run from 8:50am to 3:05pm, starting in the Resource Centre. Further details have been emailed to families. If parents or carers have any questions or need assistance to support a smooth transition for their child, please feel free to contact Mr Darcy Hall, the Year 6 to 7 Transition Coordinator, at dhall@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au or call 03 5450 5900.

The Secondary staff team is looking forward to welcoming the Year 7 cohort of 2025 next week!

Year 4 Excursion

On Friday 25 October, the Year 4 students along with Mr Ward, Mrs Tonkin and parent helpers enjoyed a morning out at the Rich River Golf Club to mark the conclusion of their Maths Unit with a hands-on golfing experience. The students took part in mini golf with groups of friends and played games and practised their swings at the driving range with guidance from the golf pro Jayden.

Throughout the morning, the students engaged in activities that reinforced what they learned in class such as symmetry, shapes, data collection and probability. This hands-on experience made learning about these concepts both practical and fun.

The students also enjoyed a shared morning tea with their classmates and finished the excursion with an ice cream! The day was a fantastic success, thanks in large part to our wonderful volunteers. Your support made it possible for our students to enjoy a safe and enriching day. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this excursion memorable. Our Year 4 students came away with great memories and a deeper understanding of how Maths can be applied in real-world scenarios.

Learn to Swim Program

In Week 4, Year 1s had our swimming lessons at the pool. We were put into groups that were different levels. We got to jump off the diving blocks and it was fun. We also did other cool things like floating on our backs, learning to swim in the deep end and swimming through hoops. We then finished with a whole class whirlpool, which was awesome.

In Week 4, Year 3 went swimming at the Echuca pool. We got split into groups: Sharks, Dolphins, Starfish and Seahorses. The first lesson we practised kicking with boards and strokes like backstroke and freestyle. On Friday, our last lesson we did a survival swim and at the end we had to run in a circle to make a whirlpool which was so much fun. At the end of each lesson we rushed out of the pool as quickly as we could to get our towels and get on the bus to come back to school. Swimming makes you really hungry and tired, it was a good thing that we had a four day weekend to rest.

Stage 3 Assembly

In Week 4, Isobel Jennings, Ava Connally and Alec Campbell hosted the Stage 3 Assembly.

During the assembly, Darcy Knowles-Mulholland and Lulu Williams shared highlights from the Year 6 Camp, while Skye Starritt and Sophie Millar discussed the importance of properly returning sports equipment to the trolleys and addressed recent issues with items being left out. They also announced T20 cricket tryouts for boys and girls in Years 5 and 6.

In our ‘Student News’ section, Evan Aylmer, Maggie Hillman and Ruby Law spoke about their experiences in the Brass and Woodwind Group, led by Mr. Keily. Oliver Knight then shared his journey auditioning for a spot in the Showdown Music Competition in Kyabram.

Mrs Jennings encouraged the Year 5 students to consider applying for the primary leadership roles and Mrs Pascoe wrapped up the Assembly with reminders about the school’s uniform policy, including guidelines for dress length, shoe types, hair, and jewellery. A letter will be sent home to students who are not in compliance with the school uniform policy, informing their families of the necessary changes that need to be made.

Primary Market Day

On Thursday 7th November, all Primary students were invited to attend a lunchtime market day, which was organised and run by a group of twelve Year 9 Commerce students. The kids had a great time and many students managed to win one of the prizes available. I would like to thank the Year 9 students and Mr Gilbert for organising this event.

Safety Message from the Office

During pick up times, we ask that parents use the designated car parks around the school to access the school in a safe manner. We continue to receive concerns about the number of parents who park their car across the road on Kirchhofer Street and walk between buses, offering limited road visibility when crossing the road to return to their car. We thank you for your support.
