Dear Parents and Friends,
Lots has been happening at St. Christopher's School recently, and we thank all of our parents and friends for their continued support.
What an amazing performance from our students last Wednesday evening at Forest Hill Secondary College. We are all very proud of every single one of them. Every student spoke and acted with great condidence and it was very special to see each one get their own moment in the spotlight. A big thanks to Cathy Ellis (K & C Dance and Drama) for all the work she did to prepare students throughout the year. St Christopher's staff all played an important role in supporting students. The concert was professionally filmed and the link was shared with families earlier this week.
The tragedy that occurred at Auburn South Primary School this week, is a reminder of how important safety around schools.
Specifically at St. Christopher's, it is critical that;
The safety of our students and community is of paramount importance. It is essentail that we all move safely around our school.
Our new senior playground was opened last week and the students have been all smiles. This structure has been in high demand and is getting a thorough test. Thanks to Adventure Plus who worked effiently to remove the old playground and install the new one within a few days. Please note that any student using the adventure playground after school, must be supervised by parents. It is also good to know that the old playground will be shipped to a third world country and put to good use. We hope to start planning a new Junior playground and anticipate this will be installed early 2025.
Thanks to the Parents' Association (PA) for providing a lovely morning tea for the St. Christopher's staff today. This was in appreciation for all the amazing work that staff do to support our students. Staff enjoyed the spread and thank the PA for organising this.
Tomorrow and Monday 4 November are school closure days. Tuesday 5 November is Melbourne Cup public holiday.
A number of our students recently took part in the Australian Mathematics Competition. Last week at our assembly they received a certificate. All of these students received at least a proficiency level award. Special mention to Zihan Wo (Year 3), who received a 'Prize' award which is only presented to 1 student out of every 300 in a region. An outsranding effort!
Kunzin Tsultrim, Sarah Cheng, Alanna Thuraisingham, Zi han Wo, Tony Lin, Alexander Archibald, Elisha Lai, Maxi Lin, Thinu Deegalla, Vihaan Chatla.
Staff are planning 2025 classes. If for any reason you anticipate that your family will not be returning to St Christopher's, please inform our office as soon as possible.
Our next assembly will be Friday 8 November and include students of the week. All welcome.
If you have any concerns regarding your child, please see their teacher or myself.
Enjoy the long weekend
