Year Four - Spotlight on Learning
Dear Parents,
The students have been completing grammar, vocabulary and writing tasks related to our novel "The Wild Robot". In Maths students learnt how to create frequency tables using spreadsheets. Students showed their understanding of Mission by completing a post assessment in Religion. In Integrated Studies students created more complex dance sequences using their puppets and advanced choreographic devices. For Respectful Relationships, we identified actions to build respectful gender-friendly relationships in different parts of our lives.
Our Learning Focus for Week 4 . . .
Religious Education focus: Students will be actively engaging with Scripture in preparation for our upcoming Mass. Through these sessions, they will deepen their understanding of the Gospel and reflect on its relevance to their own lives.
Mathematics focus: Students will be working on developing their knowledge on creating spreadsheets by entering data into a spreadsheet. Students will insert and format a column graph using spreadsheet software.
English focus: This week students will continue to read our class novel “The Wild Robot” and complete grammar, vocabulary and comprehension tasks related to the text. Students will develop sentences that use connectives to link arguments, evidence and reasons.
Social/ Emotional Learning & RRRR: Students will be learning important strategies to ensure their safety and the safety of others in situations involving conflict or violence.
Auslan: Students will be engaging in a self-reflection of their Auslan learning. They will review their ability to sign a noun followed by a colour adjective, describe a pet and its colour and reflect on their knowledge of iconic farm animal signs by identifying the key features
