Can You Measure God's Love?

In the Mass on Wednesday, Father Jithin asked the students in Foundation and Year One,

"Can you measure the height of the Church?" They replied "Yes!...with a measuring tape".

Then he went on to say that we can measure lots of things - we can measure the weight of something with scales and we can tell the time with a watch. But can we measure how much God loves us? The students were up for the challenge and many enthusiastically replied "Yes!"

Our students possibly have a bit more to learn about the nature of infinity, but at least they're willing to have a go. Father Jithin's point is that there is no way of measuring God's love because it is beyond our comprehension.

Christians believe that God gave us his only Son to help understand this love - that God created the universe - that God gives us eternal life - that God is love. This is all too much love to fully understand but Christians also believe that all will be revealed when we eventually meet Him! This belief does an amazing job at explaining why there is so much beauty and complexity to life. If life were to be explained as 'random' and with no intelligent creator behind it, it doesn't make as much sense. Love makes more sense.

New Entry/Exit to school

Over the past few weeks we have completed the fencing along the inside of Denis Lane. This included putting in a pedestrian gate half way along Denis Lane for parents using Village OSHC to enter and exit.

The fence along Ferrari Drive has been removed and families are now invited to have children cross Denis Lane at the mid-point (between the portables and Damascus community).

From Monday there will be a staff member with a stop sign to ensure students are able to cross safely. Please ensure that safe use of crossings are completed. Only those crossings with a staff member attending (in hi-vis) are the ones to use.

We look forward to this new gate supporting families to offer walking options to their children.
