Grade 3/4 News

Our Wonderful Grade 3/4 Learning Journey
We are thrilled to share the fantastic progress our Grade 3/4 students have made in Term 3! They’ve been showing incredible growth and enthusiasm across all areas of their learning.
Maths
In Maths, we have had so much fun exploring measurement! The students have been hands-on with a variety of tools, such as rulers, measuring tapes, and trundle wheels, to measure the length and width of objects around the classroom. They’ve been excitedly working in groups and individually, making connections between real-world objects and their measurements. We’ve also explored how much water different containers can hold by doing hands-on activities to measure capacity. Students are building a strong understanding of key concepts such as mass, capacity, and how to use metric units like grams, kilograms, millilitres, and litres. Their curiosity and enthusiasm have helped them make wonderful progress!
Spelling: Building Strong Foundations
In our spelling lessons, the students have been actively participating in the ‘Spelling Success In Action’ program. This term, we’ve focused on specific word patterns, including words that start with "XXX" and end with "XXX." They are expanding their vocabulary while developing strategies to spell tricky words with confidence.
Literature: Diving into The Wind in the Willows
In Literature, we’ve been exploring the classic story The Wind in the Willows. The students have been deeply engaged in analysing the plot, themes, and characters. We’ve had some lively class discussions where they’ve shared their thoughts and ideas about the adventures of Mole, Rat, Toad, and Badger. This has helped them not only understand the story better but also develop their comprehension skills. We are so proud of their progress!
We look forward to continuing this wonderful learning journey with your children and seeing them flourish as the term progresses.
Warm Regards
