Professional Learning Communities

Last week, the secondary school presented their PLC inquiries to the rest of the secondary staff in the College Library. These inquiries focused on a model where teachers use an improvement cycle to improve teaching and learning in the college. Teachers evaluate and diagnose a problem of practice or an area they would like to see improve in the school and then develop and plan activities over a 6 -8 week cycle. The inquiries in this cycle focused on Senior Maths - Developing a student-friendly booklet on how to use the CAS calculator,  VCE extended responses, implementing Berry Street Strategies, incorporating student voice into assessments, improving the use of vocabulary and understanding of command terms, and cultivating a culture of respect and excellence.

Our Year 3 & 4 primary-aged students are currently having a great time at the Nillahcootie Camp, and we look forward to their return. Many of our students have achieved fantastic sporting results this term and we congratulate them on their efforts. Year 12s are currently in the midst of their exams and Year 11 exams start next week. We wish them all the best.
