What the students say

Lana Abud-Hime, Year 10 Ridgeway Campus

This year, I joined the Ivanhoe Edge program, participating in both netball training and gym sessions. I chose Ivanhoe Edge to further develop my netball skills, as I already play club netball and want to take my game to the next level.

Our netball coach is a professional player with a rich background, having played for the Melbourne Vixens. Currently, she plays for the newly established Melbourne Mavericks. Netball training sessions are held once a week from 7:00 to 7:45 a.m., and I train alongside girls from various year levels.

These sessions have been invaluable, helping me master crucial moves and positions that have significantly enhanced my on-court performance. In addition to netball, I attend gym sessions three times a week. Each session is guided by an instructor who ensures we're using proper technique, with iPads displaying the workout plan for the day. My focus is mainly on weight training, although there are speed and agility sessions available as well. However, those start at 6:30 a.m., which is a bit early for me!

Ivanhoe Edge has been an incredible experience, and I’ve gained many new skills. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their athletic abilities and overall fitness.
