Welcome to Autumn! Please remember that whilst the weather cools, we still wear hats until the end of term.
Supporting our children with navigating what is a very digital world can be challenging, as we are among the first generation of parents having to. As a part of the Inform and Empower Parent Session we hosted earlier this year, two resources were shared that can be helpful in supporting your children, and I can vouch for having engaged with them both in my house.
Jack Changes the Gameis a book aimed at early primary that takes a child’s perspective to online grooming, the challenges they face and why it’s important to talk to a trusted adult if they encounter any problems online.
Embrace Kidsis a film aimed at upper primary which brings together a vibrant collection of stories from young people and famous friends alike, who share their experiences about body image, bullying, gender identity, advocacy, representation and more.
I am pleased to share that after nominations closed last week, we have a full School Council for 2026 with all available positions being filled. It’s wonderful to have representation across many areas of the school. We welcome Emma Almeida, Paul Graham and Chris Haines to the council, and thank outgoing members David Larkins and Jane Holroyd for their contributions. I extend special thanks to Jane due to the extraordinary body of work she has contributed to the school over so many years, in both a formal capacity as School Councillor, but in organising, contributing to and initiating so many events. Her organisation, vision and passion for contribution leaves our school in a far better place, and a legacy large that we are enormously grateful for.
Below you will find the 2026 membership of our Council.
At our upcoming March meeting, we will also be sharing our 2025 Annual Report and welcome parents and carers to attend this section of the meeting. The Annual Report will be published to the community subsequent to this meeting online and via the newsletter.

Our Relief Teacher Agency, Free Agency, has initiated a ‘Teachers’ Tab’ to provide an opportunity for generosity, thanks and goodwill within our school community. Where you see the attached sign up in one of our many wonderful local cafes, you have the opportunity to ‘shout a coffee’ or add money to the ‘tab’ for our staff to access for a coffee on you… And let’s face it, grateful, happy and caffeinated educators are good educators!
There are scheduled water mains upgrades due to take place on Ludstone Street from early - mid April (scheduled at this stage for the 14th). It will involve excavating, temporary road closures and typical construction noise during Monday - Friday, 7am - 5pm. It will impact parking at various stages of construction along parts of the street and so please allow extra time to drop off and pick up from school, and consider alternate arrangements (eg. riding) if possible. This is an opportune time to remember to:
We are in the final stages of confirming Class Coordinators for 2026. Once this is complete, every parent who has agreed to share their details with the community, will be added to a WhatsApp Group (remember, not an official school communication tool!) to connect and share information, summaries, reminders and the like.
