Wellbeing

This week we are excited to welcome Project Rockit to run workshops with our Year 3 - 6 students!

Project Rockit is Australia's youth-driven movement against bullying, hate and prejudice. They empower school students to challenge bullying in school, online and beyond.

The Year 3’s will be doing a workshop on Thursday morning called BELONG. It “introduces students to the important role that they play in building inclusive school communities, empowering them with foundational strategies and empathy to combat social exclusion and increase awareness of diverse perspectives. The big idea: Shaping communities where everyone belongs - it starts with us.”

Year 4, 5 and 6 students are partaking in a workshop called UNITE. “Unite builds a shared understanding of what bullying is and how it impacts those targeted. Students are empowered with strategies to promote a culture of taking action to support each other. The big idea: When it comes to bullying, either you’re part of the problem or part of the solution.”

The Year 3 - 6 students have also started our new Wellbeing survey that we have introduced this year! It provides students with a regular opportunity to check in, seek help and reflect on how they are feeling. The survey results will guide our teachers and leadership team to tailor programs, supports, and initiatives that strengthen both learning and wellbeing.

Poppy, our visiting Therapy Dog, has been enjoying her visits with us this term. So far she has spent time with a small group of students across different grades each week and helping us to learn more about self regulation.

The Inclusion Action Team have been brainstorming their actions they will take across the term to promote inclusion across the school. We have been having conversations about making regular “episodes” to spread the message of inclusion! Stay tuned for the BSPS Belonging Broadcast!

Thanks to the team for auditing the Rainbow Library - it’s looking great!
