Harmony Day at St Anthony's Primary School
On Friday 21st March, Killester students who were alumni from St Anthony’s Primary School were invited to their Harmony Day assembly.
We were welcomed with open arms by the students and a speech from Father Brian, who shared his beautiful symbolism that we are like an orchestra—different parts playing together from the same sheet of music. Further, we were cordially received by MP for Mulgrave, Eden Foster, who encouraged everyone to learn their mother tongue and MP for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, reminding us that the community of Greater Dandenong is the most multicultural municipality in Australia.
The assembly consisted of a parade, inviting everyone to showcase their beautiful cultural dress, followed by Colombian dancing, which encouraged all to join in the fun! Wrapping up the assembly, we enjoyed morning tea, a true demonstration of hospitality.
A heartfelt thank you to St Anthony’s Primary School for their warm welcome and for allowing us to be part of such a wonderful celebration of diversity and inclusion.

Year Eleven Retreat
The Year Eleven retreat allowed us to recharge our energy as we transition into VCE. The importance of practicing mindful activities, as well as purposely relaxing, in order to not burn out, was emphasised through activities such as walking by the beach, journaling and yoga. Other activities, such as pizza making and stand up paddle boarding, enabled us to step out of our comfort zone and try something new.
There were also many chances to become closer to our cohort, I was grateful to have this time to reflect on my spirituality and engage in good conversation with others. Being close to the beach was both relaxing and taking time off our screens was grounding, reminding us to always let ourselves find a balance between work and rest.

Year Twelve Retreat
On the 12th of March we saw Year Twelve students head out on retreat to Rutherford Park near Daylesford. Congratulations to the students, who were fabulous with their participation and to the dedicated teachers who supervised and ran sessions. The Year Twelve students embraced their experience with the spirit of Hospitality, acknowledging how they had been shaped and moulded by God through family, friends, experiences and choices.
Year Twelve SWIFT 'Lunch and Learn'
On Monday the 17th, the two of us, along with five other students, were chosen to participate in the SWIFT 'Lunch and Learn' meeting in collaboration with South East Water and CMP in Frankston.
Prior to the meeting, we both had aspirations to eventually join the engineering industry, however, we weren't sure which fields we would pursue our aspirations in. Now, both of us feel inspired to join the water industry.
When we arrived, we were met with spectacular ocean views as the South East Water building is situated right by the ocean. We were greeted by the director of CMP, Soyun Pundayasa, who has been a key figure in the Gems In Stem program, alongside other talent recruitment programs in the engineering industry.
We had the opportunity to speak with a panel of young engineers involved in the water industry, which allowed us to openly discuss and ask questions. We learnt about the different facets of the water industry and the many different roles that need to be filled in order for us to have running water.

Year Ten Drawing and Sculpture
Our Year 10 Drawing & Sculpture students recently took part in an inspiring full-day incursion with renowned Melbourne artist Tracey Lamb.
Working with natural materials such as bamboo and builders' string, students explored creative construction techniques to produce a range of striking sculptural works. The results were fantastic — a true celebration of imagination, teamwork, and hands-on learning.
Congratulations to all students for your incredible efforts and artistic achievements!

Design Technology - Year Eight Junior Textiles A
During Term 1, Year 8 Textiles students have completed several introductory learning tasks which have included hand sewing/embroidery skills. In the process they created cute felt purses and avocado key rings. Students are also starting their main assignment, learning about fibres and fabrics. An introduction to fashion drawing is one component of this ongoing assignment. Students are learning to draw outfits suitable for summer, which might be made from cotton, and outfits for winter which might be made from wool. Individual creativity and rendering skills are demonstrated in this activity.
