The Under 14 Boys Freestyle Relay team of Hylton P, Lenny C, Nate B and Jett R swam an amazing race to come 3rd. You all should be very proud on the effort you put in, being a member of a relay team requires commitment from everyone, which you all displayed by being willing to attend the day and support your fellow team members. Well done boys.
Ranger U, Elliott T, Angus C and James M qualified to compete in the Under 13 Freestyle Relay, unfortunately these boys were not able to participate on the day due to the day clashing with the Year 7 camp, despite not competing congratulations to you all on qualifying at this level.
On Tuesday our senior Boys Volleyball team competed in the GWR region volleyball tournament.
The Boys found themselves competing against some fantastic opposition from both Ballarat and Brauer (Warrnambool) college.
The first test was against Ballarat college, the game started off rather shaky with Ballarat’s power handing them a strong start to lead 17-10, a quick chat and reality check kicked the boys into gear, winning them the next 10 points straight and eventually winning the first sent 20-18.
The second set started off with a bang, the boys finding their rhythm early, creating a handy lead and comfortably holding on for a nice victory taking the first game 2-0
The second and Final game saw us line up against Brauer College, which turned into a Grand Final, with Brauer also beating Ballarat earlier in the day. The boys Kicked off exactly where they took off, some impressive power hitting and serving by all the boys saw the first set taken comfortably. The second set started well, with the boys creating a handy lead, however a strong fightback from Brauer saw them draw back level late in the game. Whist some staff may have been nervous for the boys, they regrouped to clinch the second set in a fantastic display of teamwork!
Winning the second game 2-0 was all that was needed for the boys book their spot in Melbourne for the State Titles on the 15th of May, a fantastic achievement that the boys should be super proud of, as we are super Proud of them!
The selflessness, great sportsmanship, care and generosity shown by these boys all day was absolutely sensational, showing fantastic leadership and displaying Horsham Colleges values perfectly!
