WIMMERA SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING CHALLENGE
On Tuesday 18th March, a group of 19 Year 10 students headed out to Longerenong to participate in the Wimmera Science and Engineering Challenge. The event saw students from seven schools across the region applying their design and problem-solving skills to a range of different STEM challenges.
Students showed strong teamwork and persistence as they tackled the tasks allocated to them. Points were earned as students achieved each level and although Horsham College did not come home with the winner's trophy, we are very pleased with the 4th place they achieved. We congratulate St. Arnaud Secondary College on their win.
We thank the team from the University of Newcastle for providing such a unique range of challenges for the benefit of our students. We would like to acknowledge the work of organisers and volunteers from several Horsham and Wimmera Rotary groups, without which the day could not have gone ahead. I would also like to thank the three Year 11 students, Lucy, Lexy and Will, who volunteered their time to help with the running of activities.
Well done to all those who participated!
