Year 12 News

Taylor Shelley & Nick Rigas,  Year 12 Coordinators

With Term 1 nearly finished we have to say congratulations to all the Year 12’s on a great start to the year and encourage you to take the time to celebrate that for many of you, you are nearly a third of the way through the last year of schooling and the elephant is now officially one third consumed.  Thanks in advance to our Chaplain Yolande Grosser who will be organising a morning tea for Year 12 students and teachers on the last week of term.

Interim Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews have provided an excellent opportunity for students to reflect upon their progress so far and consider future areas of improvement. We appreciate those families who have taken the time to attend.

Absences

As the weather cools and the illnesses increase we would like to remind parents and guardians to keep approving absences either via the SEQTA Engage app, DM to your form group teacher or coordinators, a phone call, or the old school signed note. If your child is leaving during the school day we ask that you contact the school and they collect a blue pass from the Year Level office, so as to avoid staff looking for “missing students”.

Students Driving to School

As more and more of our students turn 18 and begin driving it is a great opportunity to reflect on the requirements from the school aspect. Parents and students are required to complete a Student Driver Agreement form. It is a school policy that students do not transport other students to and from school unless parent permission is given via this form. Drivers are also not permitted to leave school during recess, lunch or study periods without prior parent permission as per normal absences. Students can collect the form from the Year 12 office.

On behalf of the Year 12 team we would like to wish everyone a safe and restful Easter holidays.  The upcoming holidays provide students with an opportunity to rest and refresh. Please take the time to reflect on your achievements in term1. Teachers will be setting holiday homework so make sure you also use the some of the holidays to complete some study.
