AFL Player visit - St. Kilda Football Club

St Mary’s was abuzz this week with the news that we would be visited by some AFL players from the St Kilda Football Club. As promised we were delighted to welcome current AFL superstars Jack Macrae, Bradly Hill, Hugo Garcia, Alixzander Tauru, Liam Henry and Lance Collard to an excited student and staff group.

Thanks to the AFL and St. Kilda FC for providing such a great opportunity to our school. Plenty of great questions were asked and there was even time to have a kick of the footy!

Supporting Your Child Through the Holiday Routine

With the school holidays upon us, the shift from structured school days to a more relaxed routine can be both exciting and challenging for families. Children thrive on routine, so a sudden change can sometimes lead to restlessness or unsettled behaviour. To help ease the transition, try maintaining a loose daily rhythm, consistent wake-up and bedtimes, balanced with fun activities and quiet downtime.

Holidays are a great opportunity for family connection, but they don’t need to be packed with outings. Simple activities like nature walks, board games, baking together, or visiting the local library can keep children engaged without overwhelming them. If screen time increases, balance it with outdoor play and social interactions. Most importantly, embrace the slower pace and enjoy this precious time together!
