Holy Week Liturgies

Palm Sunday

The Foundation - Year 2 celebrated our first day of Holy Week which was Palm Sunday. They shared the story and we all sang ‘Hosanna to our King’

Holy Thursday

The 3/4 students shared the events of the washing of the hands and the very important Last Supper. This a very important occasion as Jesus shared his body and blood with his disciples.

Good Friday

All the 5/6 students represented Good Friday by doing the Stations of the Cross. There were 14 stations and every student contributed making it a respectful and reverent reenactment of this extremely important day in our faith.

A great job to all of the students presenting and it was all amazing!

Wonderful things we have done this Term

We have done alot of great things this term. Some of them were: the Cross Country, Celebration of Learning, the 5/6 camp at Coonawarra, the Holy Week Liturgies led by all of the levels, the Easter Bonnet Parade, and so much more!

Celebration of Learning

During the Celebration of Learning, everyone moved from class to class asking questions about what people learnt, and what they had to do for that task. When they finished explaining their main work, (if they had spare time) they could go around the room and ask other students about their work.

On Monday morning, the parents came to school and look at their kid’s work.

She loves to lend a helping hand and is always the first to volunteer to do a class job. An all round pleasure to have in 3A.  Well done Pip!

News from Mrs Sullivan

What an amazing and busy term we have had!  I want to extend my thanks to all the parents who have helped out in any way at school, whether that be as a classroom helper, walking to Mass, spectators and helpers at the Cross Country, Touch Footy and Interschool sports, wrapping Easter Eggs for our Raffle and creating wonderful Easter Bonnets. You all make our sense of community so strong and the children and staff appreciate all the support you give them.

Special mention to Hayley and Lisa who have been managing our fundraising activities behind the scenes - we couldn’t do these activities without you - Thanks Hayley and Lisa.

I want to thank the staff for the wonderful commitment they have to their children in their class. They have worked so hard to build up relationships, learn new programs (Ochre Maths and LIttle Learners Love Literacy), target the teaching to suit the needs of individual children and to make sure the school is a safe and welcoming place for all.

Last but not least, the children. They are the most caring, compassionate and collaborative group who are always on the lookout to make our school a better place to be!

Special mention to the Arts and Culture group - Charlotte, Iris, Luke, Tom, Nic, Blake, Ollie who have written the Term 1 newsletter for us. They have done an outstanding job - Thank you.

Special mention also to the Liturgy and Community Leaders - Saoirse, Louise, Gemma, Laylah, Spencer and  Ethan for running our assemblies each fortnight - Thank you!

Celebration of Learning

What an amazing morning our students had showcasing their sensational work to their families! The students were so proud to explain to parents and other classes the work they had been doing over Term 1. What a lovely way for the children to be acknowledged. Thank you to all the parents who came to not only look at their children's work, but also checked out the work of other children and other year levels.

Easter

What a lovely start to our last day of school with an Easter Bonnet Parade .  Mrs Marziano sent me the beautiful video of everyone wishing me a very happy Easter.  It made my day.  The children (and staff) looked so good.

I have to say a big thank you to Jodie and the children for the beautiful Holy Week Liturgies. The children have been so reverent and respectful, which is so lovely to see.

Colouring Competition

Thank you to everyone who entered the Easter Colouring Competition! They were all amazing! Tracey and I had a very hard time choosing the winners!

Winners:

Age 1-4 - Eden

aAge 5-7 - Billie

Age 8-12 - Isabel

Winter Uniform

Term Two sees a change to our Winter Uniform.

We will have a two week period to transition from summer to winter for the first two weeks of Term 2.  We ask that you not mix the two.

The PSW Uniform Shop - 1 Age Street, Cheltenham will be open over the holidays. Please note girls winter tunics and skirts are not available at PSW.  They can be ordered online via CDFpay app.  See Tracey regarding sizes when school returns.  We are still selling a few other items via CDFpay - winter beanies, school hats, St Brigid's sports socks and girls winter tunics and skirts.  Our winter beanies are great for the colder months and cost $15.00. Now that we have a St Brigid's beanie, no other beanies can be worn at school.

A reminder to our Foundation to Year 4 families - swimming commences week 2 of Term 2 and the children will be wearing their sports uniform for the 8 days of the swimming program.

Farewell

Today we say a sad farewell to the Saunders Family.  Kate, Hamish, Hudson, Leo, Samuel and Julia have been valued members of our community for the last four years.  They are making the move to the Peninsula with a little more room to roam.  We wish you all the very best.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter and safe holidays.  I'm heading off on my BIG adventure tonight.
