A message from Stage 2
The Stage 2 teachers would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for your support and involvement in your child's learning and development this term. The progress we have seen across our stage is a true reflection of our students' hard work and dedication to their education.
It has been a wonderful start to the year, and we are excited about the learning journey ahead. As we approach the break, we wish you a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable time with your family.
This term, Stage 2 has been focusing on narrative writing in English. Students have engaged in planning their stories according to the correct structure, drafting their narratives, and proofreading and editing their work to enhance their writing skills. Next term, we will shift our focus to planning, creating, and revising written texts for informative and persuasive purposes.
This term, Stage 2 has been learning to understand the value of each digit in numbers. We have focused on using efficient strategies for addition and subtraction, measuring length using both informal and formal units, and telling the time on analog and digital clocks. Additionally, we have discussed daily routines to illustrate how time is an essential part of everyday life. Next term, we will concentrate on fractions, displaying and interpreting data, and the flexible use of multiplication and division concepts, strategies, and representations.
Reading at home with your child is crucial. It fosters a love of books and learning, enhances vocabulary and comprehension skills, and strengthens the parent-child bond. It also helps children develop critical thinking and imagination, setting the foundation for their future academic success. Regular reading together can significantly impact their confidence and enthusiasm for literacy. For further information please follow this link.
