Deputy Principal's Message

As we move into the Term 1 holidays, I would like to thank our school community, students and teachers for their support and involvement in school activities and initiatives over what has proved to be a very busy term. I wish you a safe and happy holiday break and look forward to welcoming students and families back to school for Term 2, starting on Wednesday 30 April.

Maths activities for the holidays

There are so many fun, everyday maths activities that children can do over the holidays. From cooking, to map reading, to games that are perfect for long road trips in the car, this extensive list of ideas provides some great ideas to help children engage with mathematics over the Easter break and show that maths is all around us.

New Social Media Laws

As part of eSafety lessons during ICT sessions, many students have been asking about the new social media laws that will come into effect in November. The eSafety Commissioner website answers questions about these new laws and outlines the key measures that will be implemented under the new law. The national 'Children and Social Media Survey', conducted in September 2024, revealed that 84% of children aged 8 to 12 had used at least one social media or messaging service since the beginning of the year.

As part of their eSafety lessons, students have been discussing how to unsubscribe from apps they will be too young to access once the new laws come into effect, and how to delete the app from their device.
