Vision for Learners

NAPLAN 2025
This week has seen the end to the NAPLAN for 2025. Well done to the Year 7 and 9 students for their exemplary behaviour and desire to do their very best in each element. A big thank you to Mrs Higgins who oversaw the whole process which is no small undertaking.
Thank you to all Year 7 and Year 9 teachers, Mrs Wesselingh for her administrative support and Mrs Ponikvar-Dudfield for supporting the scheduling.
A special mention to Mrs Thomas and the Inclusive Education teams for their consistent support of students with adjustments.
What a great overall team!
Learning Conversations:
Years 7-12
Learning Conversations for Years 7-11 has been scheduled for Wednesday, 9 April, 4:00pm - 7.30pm, and additionally for Year 7 families Thursday, 10 April, 1.30pm -5:00pm.
Year 7 Students and Families
Year 7 students and families will all meet with one of the student's core teachers for a student -led Learning Conversation.
In the allotted time students will give an overview of their learning so far this year, with particular reference to the College's Vision for Learners pillar of Independence.
There is then time for specific discussion about the student's progress in the core subjects.
Should Year 7 parents wish to discuss the progress of their child outside of the core subjects, please email those teachers directly.
Due to many Year 7 teachers teaching in multiple year levels, divisions of time have been made to ensure enough meeting times for them to meet with families from other year levels.
Should you not be able to make a time, then please contact the teacher directly.
Year 8- 12 Student and Families
The opportunity exists for students, parents and caregivers to meet with subject teachers to discuss their student's learning.
This offers a chance for celebration and discussions about ways to work for improvement. It is a valuable time for parents/ caregivers, students and teachers to come together. Should your child have one teacher for multiple subjects it is only necessary to make a booking once, where all subjects can be discussed.
We look forward to seeing parents and students take this opportunity to further enhance their learning as well as build the collaborative relationship between home and the College.
Please refer to the email due for distribution early next week, for instructions on how to book via TASS.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to regularly check Canvas for their child's progress and feedback for individual assessment items. If you are having trouble accessing either Canvas or TASS please refer to the help sheets on the website as part of the Parent Portal page or contact the College.
