Junior Years Report

Student Writing
Our Year 7 students were asked to develop, plan, draft and then produce a piece of writing that explores a seed idea based on a personal experience. Here are some great pieces of writing from some of our students.
Year 8 Camp
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of our recent Year 8 Camp, which for the first time was held at Warra Gnan Coastal Camp in Warrnambool. Indeed, it was a HUGE three days of adventure and fun, with students engaging in numerous outdoor activities including surfing, kayaking, mountain bike riding, coastal trail-walks, lawn bowls and mini golf, plus a variety of team-building challenges in the parkland surrounding Lake Pertobe. Travelling via train proved quite a novelty for students and we received some pleasing feedback from a member of the community who shared a carriage with the group on the same service. Likewise, the lawn bowls volunteers also made a point of commending students for their participation, behaviour, and respect. Thanks again to all students, parents / guardians and staff for supporting our extra-curricular programs…it is greatly appreciated.

Year 7 and 9 Drama Class
Our Year 7 students recently took on an exciting drama challenge, creating scenes based on fun prompts like “The One Where They Get Married” or “The One Where You Go to Hospital.” Working together, they brought these scenarios to life with enthusiasm and creativity.
Here are some snapshots of our students in action, having fun and showcasing their storytelling skills!
Our Year 9 Drama students have been hard at work recreating scenes from popular films like Mean Girls and Alvin and the Chipmunks as part of their movie recreation task. With plenty of creativity, teamwork, and dramatic flair, they’ve been stepping into character and bringing these memorable moments to the stage.
