Senior Years Report

Environmental Science and Digitech Excursion

In Term 1, students from Environmental Science and Digital Technologies had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Conservation and Culture Program, delivered by Geelong Tech School. This fully immersive, four-day program combined STEM learning with real-world problem-solving in conservation and environmental science, in collaboration with Parks Victoria.

As part of the experience, students visited Serendip Sanctuary and You Yangs National Park, where they gained first-hand insights into the environmental challenges faced by Park Rangers. Through these site visits, students explored conservation issues and learned about the technologies used in environmental protection. Students also had the opportunity to plant trees, contributing to local conservation efforts. The positive feedback from Parks Victoria highlighted their dedication and the impact of their hard work.

With this understanding, they were given a design brief challenge—tasked with defining a real-world problem, analysing possible solutions, and applying technology-driven approaches to tackle conservation issues. Working collaboratively, students:

  • Defined and documented key environmental challenges
  • Brainstormed, ideated, and mapped innovative solutions
  • Developed and extended their prototyping and technology skills
  • Designed and pitched their final prototypes to Parks Victoria staff

The students demonstrated exceptional creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, producing innovative ideas that addressed real conservation challenges. Their presentations were met with great success, showcasing the power of STEM in environmental sustainability.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and dedication throughout this experience. Well done to all participants! We look forward to seeing how they continue to apply their newfound skills and knowledge in the future.

Year 12 VCE VM Excursion

Our Year 12 VM/VCE students recently attended the Formula 1 Grand Prix, where they experienced the excitement of live motorsport and explored various interactive exhibits.

The event provided a great opportunity to see professional drivers in action and learn more about the teamwork and technology behind the sport. It was an enjoyable day with plenty to see and do.

Adding to the excitement of the day, Year 12 students Chelsea May and Jemma Setalo had a surprise encounter with Love Island stars Tommy and Zane!

Meanwhile, Angus Gee, Donte Formoso-Fedor, and Noah Juraga took a moment to say hello to Skye from Paw Patrol!
