Today is a great day to be you!

The Resilience Project - Webinar

Last week, Whitney from TRP hosted the 'Building Resilience At Home' webinar for our

wider school community. It was great to take part and hear some tips to reinforce what we are doing at school.

For those who tuned in, I hope you were able to take away one or two tips to try at home. For those who couldn't make it, TRP have now shared the recording of the webinar, which you can access here:

The above link will expire on April 13th, so please ensure you take a look before this date.

Harmony Day Celebrations

Today we celebrated Harmony Day!

We are so proud of the diversity of our school community and it was wonderful seeing all of the cultural outfits (and orange) to celebrate the day.

The whole school began outside, making a huge fun smiley face this year. Our whole school assembly was full of cultural celebrations, and the Buddy Grade activities were a fantastic way for students to learn about the importance of acceptance, inclusiveness and to learn about cultural differences.

We then went outside to participate in a First Nations' experience with Aunty Merilyn, who conducted a smoking ceremony, and we finished the day with some Bollywood dancing.

Congratulations to all of our students and families for getting into the spirit of the day! I'd like to share a special thank you to a couple of parents - Lejoe, who gave up his time and expertise to film our Smiley Face out on the oval across the morning; and to Palak, for showcasing her amazing skills and enthusiasm in running our whole school Bollywood dance session.

School Photos Day

Next Monday is our official school photos day! Please ensure students are dressed in full school uniform.

All class photos will be taken on the day, along with student leadership photos. Students will have their individual portrait photos taken, and if you have ordered any sibling photos, these will also be taken on the day.

Other miscellaneous group photos (such as JSC, choirs, bands) will be taken later this year on our second photos day.

RAFT Annual Camp Out

Finally, a huge shout out to Simon and Byron, our RAFT leaders, for all of the work that went into the annual RAFT Camp Out. This event was attended by roughly 140 people and included water fights, Heatherdale Scouts' input with some games and activities, a scavenger hunt, pizzas, bbq breakfast - and of course, camping!

It was a highly successful event and the engagement it helped create for the students and families was outstanding. I attended on the Saturday afternoon and one thing that really stood out to me was the wonderful aspect of students of different ages just playing with each other and getting along. At school each day, students generally stick to their own friendship groups and peers of their own ages - so it was a real highlight for me to see children of all different ages just begin together and having fun.

Junior School Council - Badge Presentation

A reminder that our new 2025 JSC representatives will be receiving their badges at next Monday's Senior Assembly. The assembly begins at 2:45pm in the gym.
