Learn what opportunities our students have been taking on

Congratulations!

Our 2025 College Captain, Poppy Peters, received her Greater Western Victoria Rebels guernsey recently! Not only is she excelling on the field in AFL, but she’s also stepping up as the Leader of the Horsham Training Squad, all while balancing her studies and leadership role at St Brigid’s College. We’re also proud to celebrate past student Greta Arnel, who received her guernsey as well! Join us in congratulating these inspiring athletes.

Ash Wednesday

Last week marked the beginning of Lent - a season of reflection, renewal, and growth leading up to Easter, the most significant time in the Christian calendar.

Ash Wednesday invites us to pause and consider the kind of person we are becoming. It is a reminder of our shared humanity, our origins in the vast cosmos, and the fleeting nature of life. For Christians, it is also a time to renew faith and embrace the hope of eternal life through Christ.

No matter your beliefs, may this day be an opportunity for reflection, purpose, and renewal.

Halogen Youth Leadership Conference

Recently, our Student Leaders and Miss Grace attended the Halogen Youth Leadership Conference at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event brought together student leaders from across Victoria to hear from some of Australia’s most influential leaders. It was an incredible opportunity for our students to develop their leadership skills, gain new perspectives, and be inspired for the future!

Reflection from Amber, Charlie, Maddie and Poppy:

"On Monday, we attended National Young Leaders Day in Melbourne. The conference was filled with many unfamiliar faces from primary and secondary schools across Australia, including from places we'd never even heard of before! The session was filled with many dance breaks and activities along with four amazing guest speakers which we lucky enough to grab a photo them all! The speakers included:

• Thomas Duncan-Wait - successful screenwriter and author

• Emma McKeon - Australia’s most successful Olympian

• Majak Daw - the first Sudanese-Australian to ever play in the AFL

• Catherine Laga’aia - Actress set to play Moana in the upcoming Live Action Moana movie

The speakers all shared their personal journeys and the challenges they faced on the way to success. Their stories provided us with valuable life lessons and ideas that we can relate to our own lives. Overall it was an amazing experience which we 100% would recommend to future leaders!"
