Principal's Report

Dear families,

Last week we began our Lenten journey with an Ash Wednesday liturgy and a call to reflect on our lives. This is also a timely reminder that Easter is approaching and our first term is coming to an end.

The Year 7 and 9 students completed the NAPLAN testing this week. Our NAPLAN results consistently show growth in Literacy and Numeracy between Year 7 to Year 9 testing that is well above the national average. This means that we improve our students’ capacity from the time they join us. And we are very proud of this.

Next week we have our Athletics carnival on Thursday and the following week we look forward to the Student, Parent, and Teacher Conferences as we build a partnership between home and school. Some of you may have received an email requesting that you complete a survey that investigates how well we, at St Brigid’s, live our Catholic Identity. If you have not completed this survey yet, please take this as a reminder as it closes soon.

Finally, I remind all parents and carers that we are inviting all members of the Wimmera community to a Parent Information evening and supper on the new changes to teenage access to social media and how that seeks to improve online safety 19 March here at school beginning at 7pm. All welcome.

Stay safe,

Gerard
