Library News

Mrs Heather Vassila

Kindergarten enjoys the library during their borrowing time.

We have had a great start to the year and a fantastic term.  It is busy in the library every day, with our children continuing to show a love of reading.  Most of our children are borrowing every week and love reading the large variety of books we have.  Our library is open every lunchtime after the half bell, and we have many students who enjoy reading, drawing, playing chess or just finding a quiet space to sit and reflect.

Reading books remains an activity that our Roselea children love to do.

If your child/children forget their library books on a Monday, they may bring them back Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday second half lunch, so they do not miss out on borrowing.

Borrowing will continue right until Week 11 and children will be able to borrow for the holidays if they have no overdue books at home. I hope children enjoy their reading in the holidays.

Premiers Reading Challenge

A reminder to our 3-6 students to remember to continue to enter books they read onto the Premier’s Reading Challenge website.  If children are having difficulty with this, then they can write the names of the books down and I can help them when term 2 begins.

We already have a number of children who have completed the challenge.  Congratulations to them.

The K-2 teachers and I are reading PRC books to these children, so there is no need to worry about keeping lists for your K-2 children.

To log into the Premier’s Reading Challenge website, just Google: PRC NSW or Premiers Reading Challenge and select NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge 2025.

Thank you

Happy Holiday Reading
