National Pancake Day

Year F2D made pancakes on Tuesday, National Pancake Day. They had so much fun guessing the ingredients, making, and of course eating the pancakes. 🥞🥞🥞

Flying Drones

Today during first and second session 3/4A went up to the library to do robotics.  We did lots of programming on laptops and connected the drones to them.  We flew the drones with the help of the laptops.

We had to use an app called “Mind+” to fly the drones because these drones didn’t have controllers. The laptops made it a bit harder to fly.

The World of Robotics

My class went to do Red Dirt Robotics today.  I was in a group with Mason and Jack. Jameson started the lesson with what to do and what not to do and how robots work.

After that we got into the fun stuff which was the drones.  First we started setting up the drone, which was kind of complicated. First, we had to connect to the drones to the internet. Then we had to connect the drone to the computer. Finally, we could code the drone’s first challenge on the laptop.  It was to make the drone take off, fly in a square and then land. It was easy.

After making a square with we managed to fly the drone into a triangle which was hard.  Nobody could do it.  Then we had to try to code the drone to land on landing pads.

Red Dirt Robotics

Today we went into the library, ready and quiet to learn about robotics.  The guy that works there was named Jameson.  He showed us how to work the drones with a computer program. Which was fun.  We got to do a bit of testing with the drones. It was going really high up. Jameson made us do lots of challenges. Some of us had never done this before. Then it was nearly time for Jameson to go but before that we played an obstacle game with our drones and made the drone fly onto a landing pad.
