YEAR 12 PHYSICS STUDENTS DIVE INTO MOTION PHYSICS AT LUNA PARK
By Zack Grace (Secondary Teacher)
The Year 12 Physics students recently visited Luna Park for a fun and educational day exploring motion physics on the rides. As they soared through the air under the sunny sky, they collected data on velocity, acceleration, forces, and momentum change. Fortunately, despite experiencing intense centripetal acceleration, everyone remained feeling fine throughout the day with no upset stomachs.
YEAR 1-2 SWIM CARNIVAL: FUN, SUN, AND SPLASHING GOOD TIMES!
By Simon Broecker (Primary Sports Co-ordinator)
On Friday we had our Year 1-2 Swim Carnival! With the sun shining down, it was an awesome chance for our 1-2’s to jump in the pool and have some fun. The atmosphere was great, with all the kids jumping in the pool and having a go at something.
Whether it was swimming across the pool on an inflatable crocodile, or weaving their way through hoops, everyone had a blast. At the end of the day, all the kids got the chance to have a free swim, where they could have some fun with their friends and splash some of the Year 12 helpers.
Special thanks to Andrew Lockrey and the Year 12 helpers that came down on the day. We wouldn’t have been able to run the day without you! Also big shout out to all the parents that came down to see their kids, it was amazing to see so many of you. We look forward to doing it all again next year!
YEAR 9-10 FRENCH IMMERSION EXCURSION
By Daniel Dema (Secondary Teacher)
Last Wednesday the Year 9 and 10 French students went into the City to watch a French movie that is part of the annual Melbourne French Movie Festival. This year, we watched a movie called "Tous toqués!" ("All Stirred-Up"), a family comedy about a young Canadian student who entered to win a popular young chefs competition held in Montréal, Québec. After the movie, we went to "Roule Galette", where our students got to order (in French) some delicious galettes or crepes, made after traditional Brittany recipes. All in all, it was a fun day out in the City.
