Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for your support over the past week as we navigated the potential impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. While these weather events can bring uncertainty and disruption, I am grateful to report that our campus emerged largely intact, with only minor water damage in a few areas. Most importantly, our students and staff remained safe, which is always our first priority.

Our preparedness was a true team effort, and I would like to acknowledge the dedication of our Operations and ICT Teams, whose forward planning ensured that we were well-equipped to manage the situation and swiftly resume our usual school program. I am also especially grateful to our Boarding staff, who worked tirelessly to create a sense of security and home for our boarders during this time of uncertainty. Their care and reassurance meant so much to our students who were kept busy each day with entertaining activities.

Above all, I want to express my appreciation for the wonderful Clayfield spirit that shone through in so many ways. The offers of assistance, the words of encouragement, and the sense of community that emerged during this time were truly heartening. It is in moments like these that the strength, resilience and unity of Clayfield College are most evident.

Thank you again for your unwavering support - it is what makes our community so special.

Kind regards,

Dr Andrew Cousins
