Year 3/4

Year 3/4 Cluster News

Unit of Inquiry: We would love to hear from families who have or know someone who has skills in painting, sculpture, music, literature, theatre that may be willing to share with our 3/4 students? We are also encouraging students to bring in some family cultural art to support our Harmony day learning and our Unit of inquiry. This may even be shared as a photo of the artefact or art form.

For our ‘How we express ourselves’ unit, we are exploring the messages and ideas behind artwork and how the art connects with the audience. We are improving our understanding of the central idea and lines of inquiry and exploring different techniques and perspectives of different art forms.

Reminders:

Premier’s Reading Challenge: This year in 3/4 students will have their own individual records to track the books they read. Students are required to read eight books from the book list and four free choice books. Students will be borrowing yellow dot books from the Library. The full list of suitable books for your child can be found online at this link: https://premiersreadingchallenge.sa.edu.au/book-list/

As you read books at home, please feel free to email them to class teachers so we can help your child to add them to their list or alternatively feel free to visit the classroom before or after school to add them to the list with your child. The recording sheets will be kept at school. We will also aim to read some books as a class to help to complete our records.
