Competition was certainly hot at our Athletics Day on Monday !

Congratulations to all children, staff and parent helpers for getting through all activities throughout the morning.

A huge thank you to Mr Dan Palanca for orchestrating the event and congratulations to Chisholm who were crowned  champions for 2025!

World Down Syndrome Day

As communicated previously, tomorrow we will celebrate World Down Syndrome Day.  As a school, we will use the Lots of Socks theme created by Down Syndrome International so children can wear socks of their choice to school. They can be bright, colourful, short or long, the choice is endless! During the day, we will be discussing what makes us all unique, as well as Down syndrome. We will talk about inclusion and how we can all help each other to feel included.

On Friday 24 of our students will compete in the Footscray District Cross Country Carnival to be held at Hansen Reserve.

In order to create the prizes for the Easter Egg Raffle, we are having an Easter Egg donation day on Monday 31st March.  On this day we ask that each family send in an Easter Egg/Bunny so that we can package them into prizes for the raffle. Easter Egg donations are to be placed on the tables in the Community Hall upon arrival at school.

We are also looking for donations of cane baskets (or the like) to package our Easter Egg prizes. These can be donated at any time and handed in at the school office.

We will be wrapping all our Easter Egg donations into prizes for the raffle straight after our Assembly on Monday 31st March.  If you are able to help, please make your way up to the hall after assembly. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

In the Footsteps of St Paul

As part of the professional learning and faith development of Western Zone Catholic Primary School Principals, next week I, along with 26 fellow school principals in the Western Zone, have the privilege of embarking on a 15 day pilgrimage, to Turkey and Greece following in the Footsteps of St Paul.

With St Paul being one of the most prolific writers of the Bible and a major leader in the formation of the early church, Saint Paul is considered the greatest influencer after Jesus in the history of Christianity. This pilgrimage aims to deepen the understanding of St. Paul’s ministry, the early Christian Church, and its profound impact on the world.

A pilgrimage is not merely a physical journey but a spiritual one as well. It provides an opportunity for personal reflection, renewal of faith, and a deeper connection to the sacred history of our Christian tradition. As we walk the paths once traveled by St. Paul, the pilgrimage will serve as a time of prayer, meditation, and spiritual growth. The purpose of this journey is to gain insight into the trials, triumphs, and teachings of St. Paul, while also reflecting on our own spiritual journeys and the role faith plays in our lives today. During this time we will be visiting places steeped in biblical, historical and cultural significance -  visiting places such  as Patmos, Corinth, Meteora, Thessaloniki, Phillipi where St. Paul preached, wrote letters, and spread the Christian faith.

It is anticipated the experience will be transformative and will bring new perspectives that will enrich our leadership and our school communities.

Miss Jane Wilkinson will be Acting Principal in my absence and will be able to address any of your queries. I hope the term ends well for you all and I wish you all a safe and Happy Easter. I look forward to seeing everyone when I return in the second week of Term 2.

Have a wonderful week

God bless

National Ride2School Day

Corpus Christi is registered for National Ride2School Day and we hope that you will join more than 350,000 students across the nation who will ride, walk, scoot and skate to school on Friday 21st March 2025.

We will have a National Ride2School Day local start point. If everyone heads to the bike track next to the Kingsville Tennis Club at Hansen Reserve - 37 Wattle St, West Footscray at 8:30am, we can all head in together. Note: this is not an official CCK supervised event, if you are planning on taking part you will need to be there to supervise your child/children or organise care.
