Cultural Diversity Week

At Doncaster Primary School, we are proud of our students' diverse cultural backgrounds. We love learning about our different celebrations, such as foods and languages. We are respectful of the various religions and traditions we follow. As we develop our students to become global citizens and open-minded learners, they recognise their cultural identity in our school and embrace each other's similarities and differences.

Cultural Diversity Week is celebrated nationally. It recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone. In addition,  it also coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

To celebrate, Doncaster Primary School completed a series of learning activities about our cultural backgrounds, had class discussions about what makes each of us unique, and had fun with a cultural dress-up day!

Our wonderful students (and hard-working parents!) made a fantastic effort to showcase our school's cultural diversity during our dress-up day on 21st March. It was great to see the pride on the students' faces as they walked around the school in costumes and spoke to their classes about what makes their culture special.

Thank you, everyone!
