During the final weeks of Term 1, the students have been exploring the theme of Food. They’ve been discussing and categorising food into Healthy and Unhealthy (sometimes) groups. A key focus has been learning about fruits and vegetables that are grown and consumed in Australia.

Through images, illustrations, conversations, and real-life examples, students gained new vocabulary and were able to form sentences. 

Grade 6 students also explored how food is served and packaged, while classifying it into food groups such as proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.

Grade 5 students worked on categorizing months into the appropriate seasons, helping them understand the difference between hemispheres and recognising that Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere.

It has been a wonderful Term 1, filled with focused learning and engaging topics that have helped students explore and learn more about life in Australia.
