Level Three

WRAPPING UP TERM ONE

We have thoroughly enjoyed our first term of Year Three together! The students have settled in really well to their new classes and have followed school and classroom expectations to ensure a successful start to the year.

NAPLAN

We are incredibly proud of all of the Year Three students who completed their NAPLAN tests a few weeks ago. Overall, the students enjoyed the challenge of completing reading, writing, maths and language convention tests.

LEARNING

Literacy

In reading we have been focusing on predicting. Students have made predictions about what they think will happen in their independent book, ensuring they provide evidence, and then reflect on whether their predictions were correct or incorrect.

In writing, we have written acrostic and colour poems. Students have showcased their editing, revising and publishing skills too, by creating good copies of their acrostic poems.

Mathematics

In maths, we have finished our four week focus on place value and have moved into learning about maps and 2D objects and 3D shapes. Students loved creating a birds eye view map of their dream bedroom!

HARMONY DAY

It was great to see so many of our students dressed up on harmony/cultural day to celebrate the diversity of cultures that we have at Doncaster Primary School!

We hope all of the Year Three families have a safe and happy holiday and we look forward to seeing everyone on the first day of Term Two!
