Last year, our Sustainability Captains conducted a water audit with Mr Angus and a facilitator from CERES as part of our Resource Smart Schools Water module. They included some helpful water saving tips for your home:
Our Junior Waste Warriors made some water saving messages to display in areas around our school where we can conserve water. We put signs in kitchens, bathrooms and by drink taps around the school to help spread the message of ‘Every Drop Counts’.
Fun Fact from Eliza, 4D:
“Did you know using a half flush on your toilet saves around 3 litres of water! Save water and use a half flush when you can!”
Last week, there were two new taps installed in our Herb Garden and our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden. These taps are connected to our rainwater tanks, ensuring that our plants are watered with rainwater, instead of using tap water! This will help to reduce our water use and cost at school, and is better for our environment.
