Sustainability in Action

IN THE GARDEN LAST WEEK:
- Prep children and their Grade 5 buddies harvested our last crop of potatoes. These will be used in our school lunch program.
- Grade 1 children picked tomatoes and helped to spread mulch around our garden beds.
- Grade 6 students dug over garden beds and added a layer of mulch ready for new veggie seedlings to be planted this week. The students also planted lettuce, spring onions and honey snap peas. Tomatoes, zucchini and pumpkins were also harvested ready for our school lunch program.
COLLECTING SOFT PLASTICS AT JOHN PAUL II
Recently the Clarence City Council re-introduced the free collection of soft plastics at either Glebe Hill Shopping Centre or at the Mornington Park Waste Transfer Station. Basically any plastic that can be scrunched up in your hand can be recycled. For more information use the link here to find out what can be recycled.
At John Paul II, all our classes will be collecting soft plastics that the children bring in their lunchboxes. Our Grade 6 Sustainability Leaders will collect the soft plastics and these will be taken to the Glebe Hill Collection Station
