Principal's Message

Mr Ben Morgan | Principal

Dear Families,

Community Engagement continues to be a major focus for us at John Paul II Catholic School. We are looking forward to an afternoon of activities and quality time together at our International Women’s Day celebration on Friday 21st March. We are incredibly grateful for all of the amazing women in our school community and the way in which they enhance our school. Please keep an eye out for invitations as every child has been encouraged to invite one or two influential women in their lives to join us. Our staff have planned a wide range of activities including a dance party, face painting, tea and scones, sports/STEM and many more. If you are planning on taking your child home early, please remember to exit via the office and sign them out. We will also be celebrating International Men’s Day in November. For all community events please see the Community Calendar on our website.

We want to congratulate our Grade 3 and Grade 5 students for the way in which they have approached the recent NAPLAN tests. Whilst we do not use NAPLAN for our own student reports, it can often be a stressful time. NAPLAN does not measure kindness, empathy, or how hard our students have been working in class. What it does give us is a snapshot of achievement, which can help our school and system with decision making, and determining areas for improvement. We look forward to seeing the growth and achievement when the results become available later this year.
