The college celebrated Pride Week during the week of 24th February. The Wellbeing team, together with our Wellbeing Student Captain, Baylee, organised for Headspace and Kingston Youth Services to attend on Tuesday and Wednesday lunchtimes respectively, to provide information on the support that external agencies can provide to the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as playing some games and having some hand/arm painting in the Pride colours. The Wellbeing team also did some chalk drawing on Thursday lunchtime in the courtyard outside the canteen.
This morning, Friday 7th March, we hosted our inaugural International Women’s Day Breakfast. The invitation was extended to our local primary school Principals and their student leaders, as well as our local dignitaries. Our CSC Student Leaders, Executive team, School Council members and Domain Leaders were also invited. All guests were encouraged to be accompanied by a significant female in their lives.
Our special guest speaker was Jemima Montag, Australian Olympian Race Walker and dual bronze medal winner at the recent Paris Olympics. Jemima is a sensational guest speaker who can inspire people of every age. Guests were given the opportunity to have their photo taken with Jemima and to have an exclusive look at her Paris Olympic bronze medals.
Don't forget about our Breakfast Club, which runs every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8.15 to 8.45, offering cheese toasties and fruit cups. We also have free apples available in the front office for all students, and we kindly ask that they be mindful of where they dispose of apple cores. Organic waste bins are conveniently placed throughout the school grounds, particularly in the large courtyard outside the canteen.
For those needing extra help, students can get assistance with Maths every Tuesday and Thursday after school from 3.15 to 4.00 in B1 and/or B2. Please speak to your child's Maths teacher if you would like to know more.
If you would like to arrange wellbeing support for your child with one of our counsellors or provisional psychologists, please do not hesitate to contact me or the Director of the relevant Subschool/Coordinator.
We can also support families with access to books and uniforms through State Schools Relief and the Les Twentyman Foundation. Again, please do not hesitate to contact me or your child’s Director of Subschool/Coordinator to let them know which items you require.
