Full details surrounding some of the changes to donations below:
From the Fair Committee
The APS School Fair is rapidly approaching! It is our biggest community and fundraising event, a massive source of pride for the kids and a great day out for all the students, their families, and friends.
The fair is 100% run by volunteers, and we need the support of the whole APS community to collect second-hand donations, cakes, jams and preserves in the lead-up. We also need between 250 - 300 volunteers to assist on the day.
Let’s make this year’s event the best yet!
WE NEED EXCELLENT QUALITY DONATIONS
Excellent quality = If you wouldn’t want your child to buy it for $5, don’t donate it.
The number one way you can help is to ensure that all second-hand donations are of excellent, sellable quality so that we avoid items ending up in landfills following the event.
Donations will open on Tuesday 18th March and can be delivered directly to the signed classroom at the bottom of the double-story portable. The room will have separate donation points for leaving clothes, trashless treasures and books.
WHAT CAN YOU DONATE?
Trashless Treasure: We need excellent-quality used toys, puzzles, games, craft supplies, figurines, art, etc. (No kitchen items or electrics. Nothing broken or with missing pieces. Please count the puzzle pieces and secure the box with an elastic band.)
Second-Hand Clothes and Shoes: We are looking for excellent quality/designer kids and adults clothing, jackets, coats, snow gear, wetsuits, shoes, etc. (limit of 10 items per family, no t-shirts, kids shorts, leggings, or track pants, no Kmart/Big W)
Calling all Book Donations for the APS Fair: We will be taking donations from the following categories: children's books, young adult fiction, adult fiction, adult non-fiction. Please review what you have, and if your pre-loved texts are still in good condition, and able to be enjoyed by another
Silent Auction Items: Can you donate or facilitate the donation of a “big ticket” item for the Silent Auction? Ideas include artwork, experiences, wine, sports tickets, memorabilia, trips away (beach house, anyone?), fashion, and fitness packages. We’re open to anything!

FOR THE MAKERS AND BAKERS
Jams and Preserves: Do you make preserves? Do you have a family member who does? Do you have a cupboard full of jams you’ve prepared earlier? Maybe you have access to cheap bulk fruit. Monique is managing the Jam and Preserve stand and needs makers and donations! You can reach her at Moniqueeggenhuizen@gmail.com for more details.
Ready Steady Bake: We would love your help with baked goodies for our cake stall!
Every family can lend a hand by providing baked or similar type goodies like cupcakes, slices, muffins, scones, meringues, pikelets, tarts, or biscuits - whatever takes your fancy! The options are endless, and all contributions will be gratefully received. Erin will be sending packs home soon!
