I am writing this from beautiful Marysville where I am lucky enough to join the Year 6’s on their camp. While the weather is a bit trying this hasn’t hampered any of the excitement these students have for the activities this camp provides. They will challenge themselves with a bike ride through the bush, canoeing and a long hike into the town of Marysville.
We are so lucky to have access to such beautiful landscapes and be able to offer this experience.
We are continuing the restoration of the basketball court with the final part being replacing the backboards and rings. The surface has been upgraded to a smoother, longer wearing top coat that should see us through for another 7-10 years.
A few weeks ago I introduced the new School Council members Dina, Saomai, James and Sam. I would also now like to welcome our final member for 2025 - Paul who has a Prep just started at APS. We have our first 2025 School Council next Tuesday.
I extend my thanks to outgoing members for their time and tremendous efforts on School Council. Their dedication and support are greatly appreciated.
The Year 3 and 5 students are well into their NAPLAN testing and coping well with the testing regime. Most of the tests are online now which enables the data to be distributed to schools in a more timely manner. As a school we are proud of our data and the improvements we see each year. Well done to the students and the teachers involved.
Have a lovely week
