3/4D

Mrs. Debbie Terry

Shrove Tuesday

Last Tuesday in preparation for Lent, we were thrilled when Miss Becc and Miss Karen, along with our chefs made pancakes for our class. They were delicious. Whilst students were enjoying their pancakes students were writing their 'Lenten Promises'.

Most mornings 3/4D gather in a circle to begin our day. There are many reasons why we do this. When we gather we follow the same routine: Morning Greeting, Class Values, Daily Expectations, Announcements, Positive Primer and What Went Well (usually done during the end of the day circle or reflecting on the day before).

Last week our focus class values were thoughtfulness, friendship and cooperation and compassion

It's always great to hear exciting announcements, birthdays and upcoming holidays when we make our Announcements.

Our Morning Circle or Afternoon Circle is a great way to start and end our day.

Home Learning - is coming!

Home learning is a chance to practise and consolidate skills and concepts learnt in the classroom. It will contain tasks for Reading, Writing (inc. Oral Language) and Maths. There will be opportunities through the year to complete tasks for Education in Faith and Inquiry also. These will be on a needs basis. Please keep an eye out for Home Learning tasks coming home in Week 8.

SRC Leaders

Our recently nominated SRC leaders, Sam and Esha, have contributed to this edition of the newsletter!

Class News

We were nominated SRC leaders for 3/4D and we are going to tell you about our 'Daily Review in Writing'. Mrs. Terry has a picture prompt on the board and we have to write three simple sentences about it. For the extension task you can write a short paragraph about the picture and add extra details using adjectives! We like doing this because it gives us a chance to use our imagination. It also upgrades and improves our writing skills and gives us great ideas for stories! We also like it because everybody gets to tell a different and unique story that are incredible! Sometimes we get points for punctuation in our writing and other times we get to read our stories aloud!

Class Mass

Both Year 3/4 classes will be attending Mass on Tuesday 25th March @ 9:15am. The 25th of March is the Feast of the Annunciation. We welcome all parents, grandparents and families to come along to pray and celebrate with us.

Kind regards,

Mrs. Debbie and Miss Becc
