Preschool to Year 3 Sports Day
Today our Preschool to Year 3 students enjoyed a wonderful morning at Sports Day on the Cotters Green Oval. There was huge excitement as the children took part in a range of activities, showcasing their energy, teamwork, and enthusiasm.
The morning began with an opening ceremony and vibrant House chants, reminding everyone of the strong sense of connection and pride that our House system brings to our College community.
A standout aspect of the event was the involvement of our Year 6 students, who generously supported the younger participants. Their encouragement, guidance and positive leadership added something truly special to the day. We are grateful to our dedicated Physical Education teachers, Ms Jess Edwards and Ms Astrid Powell, whose organisation and enthusiasm brought the entire event to life.

CyberSafe Workshops
This week, our Year 5 and 6 students took part in CyberSafe Workshops as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting a safe and secure online environment.
In an increasingly digital world, it is vital that students understand both the opportunities and the potential risks that come with technology. Representatives from Cybersafe Families guided the girls through practical, age-appropriate strategies to help them navigate their digital lives with confidence.
The workshops emphasised the importance of building supportive, technology-inclusive environments at home and at school, ensuring students develop the skills they need at each stage of their digital journey. These sessions played a valuable role in empowering our girls to become responsible, informed and safe digital citizens.

Last week, the Year 6 cohort flew to Canberra for the Canberra Study Tour. As with all school camps, the girls forged stronger bonds with their peers and experienced four days away from family and familiar surroundings. We had the opportunity to participate in a range of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.
The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education, and contributed $90 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program. On Friday afternoon the girls returned to their families wiser, more resilient and very tired!

Year 5 and 6 students are invited to take part in the Australasian Problem-Solving Mathematical Olympiads (APSMO) Maths Olympiad, a competition designed to challenge and extend students’ mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
The Olympiad consists of four individual contests, each featuring five questions to be completed in 30 minutes. The contests will be held on 6 May, 10 June, 29 July, and 9 September 2026.
Students who complete all four contests are eligible for a range of individual and team awards, including certificates, medals, and recognition for high-achieving students.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We are now taking registrations from Junior School students who wish to compete in the 2026 Oliphant Science Awards. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to continue to develop their curiosity, problem solving skills, and creativity through hands-on science projects.
The competition is open to all students across the Junior School and while most of the project is completed at home, we will be providing support each Thursday at lunchtime in the Junior Lab. Students will hand in their projects around June/July. Specific dates to follow.
If you think this is something you can support your child with, please set aside some time to look at the different categories and their criteria, available through the Oliphant Science Awards Website:
https://www.oliphantscienceawards.com.au/event_information/award_categories
Please discuss the points below with your child and email their responses through to me:
Each project entry/registration requires a fee of $11 using the Humanitix link below:

We are proud to share that our students Chloe Z and Cleo M recently performed in The Chronicles, the acclaimed dance work by Stephanie Lake presented at the Adelaide Festival. As part of the children’s choir Young Adelaide Voices, Chloe and Cleo contributed to the powerful live choral soundscape that accompanies the performance’s striking choreography and music. It was an exciting opportunity for our girls to be involved in a major national production and to perform as part of the Adelaide Festival alongside professional artists.
