Compass program off to a strong start

Since its launch earlier this term, Compass, the School’s new K–12 wellbeing program, has been successfully implemented across all year levels, with strong engagement from both students and staff. Built on the Visible Wellbeing SEARCH Framework, Compass is strengthening our pastoral care system by providing a consistent, structured and evidence informed approach to wellbeing education.

Teachers report enthusiastic participation in lessons, thoughtful student discussions and a growing shared language around strengths, relationships, belonging and personal growth. Staff collaboration and commitment have been standout features in the early implementation phase.

Junior students have engaged deeply in activities exploring identity and character strengths, building rapport and fostering a strong sense of belonging. Senior students have focused on SMART goals, mentor partnerships and building positive study habits. Their thoughtful engagement highlights the relevance of Compass at this stage of schooling.

Compass is already proving to be an important step forward in our wellbeing and pastoral care approach. By grounding every lesson in our School values and providing consistent support from K–12, the program is helping cultivate a more connected, reflective and resilient student community.
