From the Prefects...

Dear Kinross Wolaroi School Families,
Coming midway into Term 1, we can definitely say it has been a successful start to the year, it is wonderful to see the strength of our school community in action, and we are excited continue the positivity throughout the term!
This weekend, we look forward to our much-anticipated Country Fair. The Fair is always a highlight of our calendar and a wonderful opportunity for families, students and staff to connect beyond the classroom. There will be plenty of fun rides, a wide variety of stalls and stores, and an impressive selection of food vendors to enjoy throughout the day. We encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the festivities and celebrate the spirit of Kinross Wolaroi School.
It has also been a particularly positive start to Campus Connect. Our Year 12 students are continuing to build strong and supportive relationships with younger students, modelling leadership and fostering a genuine sense of belonging. These connections are the foundation of the Kinross community as the interactions between younger and older students is what drives this school’s spirit.
This week we are also recognising International Women’s Day. Students have been engaging in conversations about leadership, opportunity and the importance of equity. On Wednesday this week prefects will be giving a speech on a woman in our lives that has inspired us, promoting collective appreciation and inspiration around the school. It is important that we reflect on the achievements of women in our community, considering the courage, respect and integrity of our female leaders
As the summer sporting season draws to a close, we congratulate all students who have represented the school with enthusiasm and commitment. . We are beaming with pride after the recent girls touch football win on the weekend. Whether competing at a high level or participating for enjoyment, our students have demonstrated teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship.
Dean house has been promoting the Run for Sick Kids event, as part of their house charity. We encourage members of our community to consider getting involved in event in Orange on 15 March. This is a meaningful opportunity to support families who rely on Ronald McDonald House services while promoting health, wellbeing and community spirit. Whether running, walking or cheering from the sidelines, every contribution makes a difference.
As we head into another busy week, we look forward to continuing to build a vibrant and connected Kinross Wolaroi community together.
Kind regards,
Charlie and Julia
