Farewell Fr Adi
It's with great sadness we farewell Fr Adi from our school and parish. Fr Adi will take up his new appointment in Wodonga just after Easter. Fr Adi has been a great support for our school and we will miss his friendliness, guidance and care. Thanks for being part of our school community Fr Adi.
Dear Parents and Carers
As we come to the end of Term One, I reflect back over the first nine weeks of the school year with gratitude and I applaud the efforts of many individuals contributing to creating and maintaining St Luke’s as a wonderful learning environment for the children in our care.
Thank you to our children for embracing the many learning opportunities offered on a daily basis to further develop knowledge, understanding and skills across a range of learning areas, interests and their ongoing spiritual development as a person.
I had the pleasure of attending the year 5/6 Sovereign Hill Camp last week. Our students were great ambassadors of our school values and showed great leadership. Whilst we didn’t strike it rich on the goldfields, we had loads of fun participating in the many activities on offer at Sovereign Hill, making lasting memories and strengthening friendships.
Our focus next week will be on Holy Week and the events of the first Easter over two thousand years ago. Students will be learning about the significance of Holy Week and how we have prepared ourselves throughout Lent. Holy Week begins this Sunday with the celebration of Palm Sunday. Next Thursday we are holding a Holy Week liturgy in the school stadium commencing at 11:45am.
At the beginning of Term Two we will celebrate the joy and mystery of the Resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday.
As our children and families begin the Parish-based Sacramental Program in preparation for the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist, we are reminded of our own rites of passage, of journey, of preparation and faith. The Lenten season has provided our Catholic and Christian families opportunity to pray, to give alms and, to fast as we look forward to Holy Week and the Easter mystery in the coming days. Our Muslim families have recently celebrated the season of Ramadan, similarly praying, fasting, reflection and community gathering. Members of our Indian community have celebrated the Festival of Colours (Holi). It’s a wonderful time of the year.
I wish each and everyone of our school community a peaceful and happy Easter.

Diocesan and School Theme
This year our school theme is: Seek Peace and Pursue it. For leaders, educators, students, and families, this theme is both a challenge and a compass. It reminds us that peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice, mercy, and love. It calls us to be peacemakers in our schools, homes, communities, and hearts. And it affirms that the pursuit of peace is not optional, it is essential to the mission of Catholic leadership.
In 2026, may we not only seek peace, but pursue it with courage, humility, and hope.
