Student Wellbeing

Year 11 Love Bites Program
All Year 11 students will be participating in the Love Bites Program on Monday 30th March as part of the Respectful Relationship Curriculum. Respectful Relationships curriculum has been created as a “primary prevention” initiative to reduce family and intimate partner violence.
The Love Bites program aims to provide a safe environment in which young people can discuss and learn about their rights and responsibilities in relationships and how to build healthy relationships.
The program covers some sensitive but essential content. Some of this relates to conduct with serious legal consequences if young people do not behave appropriately. This includes important information about the dangers and risks associated with sending intimate images and the importance of always having consent in any intimate relationship, whether that relationship occurs now or in the future.
These are important lessons for young people to understand to protect themselves and their peers. They will be advised how they can seek additional support if they need it. Young people will also be encouraged to support their friends by utilising healthy and proactive strategies whilst still keeping themselves safe.
Year 11 students doing an accelerated subject, have the option to attend their year 12 class.
The Wellbeing team will also be available to support the young people post program.

On Tuesday 10th February, all Year 7 students attended the Action Education Backflips program in the Gym during period 2.
A Trusted E-Safety Provider with the Australian Government, Action Education used 'Backflips, Parkour and Acrobatics' to deliver a powerful anti-bullying message to our students, by demonstrating the different ways you can shut down forms of harassment that occur using technology.
The Backflips program complemented other sessions taught to students across the College during the week relating to Safer Internet Day, including tips for staying safe online and how to deal with cyberbullying.
