Prep A

In Prep A, we have been enjoying reading the story Bev and Kev together. The students have had lots of fun exploring the characters and thinking about what is happening in the story.

As we read, we have been practising making predictions about what might happen next. Students have also been learning to identify the characters and describe their appearance and actions using clues from the illustrations and the text. 

We have also been learning about important print features of a book, including the title, spine, blurb and author, helping students understand how books are organised and how we find information about a story. 

The class has also been making personal connections to Bev and Kev by thinking about times in our own lives that remind us of the story. Another important skill we have practised is ordering the events from the story and orally retelling them to a partner, helping build both comprehension and confidence when speaking. 

Throughout our learning, we have also been exploring new vocabulary and talking about what different words mean.
