Introducing Recycling Boxes for Pens, Markers, and Mixed Recycling!

We're excited to announce the addition of pen and marker recycling boxes throughout the school! We're working together to keep these plastic items out of landfill and give them a second life, instead of taking hundreds of years to decompose.

Miss Sarah, our Sustainability Leader, will take full boxes to Officeworks, who will send it to Terracycle to be turned into something new!

This is one of the ways we are trying to reduce waste and protect our environment, making our school a little greener!

If this inspires you to continue the good work at home, you too can bring your dried-up, out-of-ink plastic writing tools to your local Officeworks for recycling, including:

  • Whiteboard markers
  • Textas
  • Highlighters
  • Pens

New Classroom Recycling Bins — Let's Go Green! 🌿

We have also introduced mixed recycling bins in every classroom! Now, just like at home, students can recycle:

  • Paper and cardboard
  • Glass bottles
  • Plastics with the 1, 2, or 5 symbols
  • Aluminium cans

Golden Rules for Recycling:

  • All items must be clean and empty
  • Flatten cardboard boxes to save space
  • 🚫 No sticky tape (it's soft plastic)

Together, we can reduce waste and create a cleaner, more sustainable school environment. Let's all do our part! ♻️
